- 4 court markers (cones, shoes, jumpers, chairs etc.)
How to play
Set up a rectangle with a partition down the middle (like a volleyball court). Split the group in two and ask for a volunteer from each team. These people will be the bombers. Each team then lies down at random on their half of the rectangle, forming battleships out of view of the other team.
One bomber is given a ball, and they throw it over the partition, attempting to hit a battleship. If they hit a ship, that participant becomes a bomber. The bomber of the opposite team then has their throw. This is repeated until there is only one battleship left, winning the game for their team.
More balls can be used for large groups, to increase involvement.
Remember, bombers are not allowed to catch the ball, only to pick it up after it has landed on the ground. And just like in the board game, the locations of the battleships must remain hidden, so no peeking over, under or around the partitions.
