How to play
Mark out the boundaries and walk everyone around them before it gets dark. Choose one or two seekers to start, depending on the size of the group.
The seekers stand at base with their eyes shut and count to a hundred while everybody else hides. Then the seekers go hunting with torches. A hider is caught when a seeker gets them in the torch beam and calls their name out loud. No touching and no grabbing, because nobody should be tackled in the dark.
Everyone caught joins the seeking team, and either takes a torch or sticks with somebody who has one. The pack grows as the game goes on. The last hider still out wins, and starts the next round as a seeker.
Set a finish time as well as a winning condition, because the last two hiders can stay out there a very long time. One whistle blast means everyone comes back to base, found or not.
