How to play
Give everyone two Post-It notes and a pen. On each one they write a single word describing a past experience: a childhood memory, a sport they used to play, a school, a place. They stick one note to each palm and hold their hands up so the words are visible. Everyone then moves around the room, pairs up, and takes turns explaining why they chose their words. Swap partners as often as time allows. The words on people's hands give everyone an easy way in, so nobody has to start a conversation cold. Works surprisingly well even with groups who think they already know each other.
